I use my HP Pavilion DV3500 Entertainment Laptop primarily as a work machine. Apart from mundane stuff like checking emails, browsing the Internet, playing games and watching movies, I run MATLAB simulations on it and do some programming in C\/Ruby. I will also be using it for working on Photoshop and Linux.<\/p>\n

\"hp-pavilion-dv3000-notebook-battery\"<\/a>Here are some of the things I liked the HP Pavilion DV3500 Entertainment Notebook:<\/p>\n

1. Fast. The 64-bit Vista that it comes with performs very fast indeed. The WEI score is 3.4 with the Aero Graphics feature being the lowest-ranked.<\/p>\n

2. Light and portable.<\/p>\n

3. Great looks (especially, the touch-sensitive buttons which contrast very well with the taupe shade of the laptop).<\/p>\n

4. Runs very cool with the fan being almost inaudible.<\/p>\n

5. The\u00a0HP pavilion dv3500 battery<\/a><\/strong> life of this laptop (which comes with a 55WHr battery) averages to 2.5 hours with the usage scenario I’ve described above. I think that’s pretty good for a machine of this size.<\/p>\n

6. Good quiet full-Qwerty keyboard with comfortable depth and travel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Some things that could be better:<\/p>\n

1. The color of the text on keyboard keys should have been a lighter shade like silver or white. Being black letters on a dark brown background, they’re really really hard to see in low light conditions. Or else, a backlit keyboard like on the dv3510 would be nice.<\/p>\n

2. The sound could be louder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

NB: If you’re being put off by the horrendous color of this laptop as shown in pictures on the HP<\/strong><\/a> website, don’t be. It’s not so bad. Really. The laptop is a much darker shade in reality. Most people have described my laptop to me as ‘dark brown’ rather than ‘gold’ (which evokes images of flashy baubles rather than sleek machine). Also, the imprint design gives it an understated elegance from close-up.”<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
