{"id":1138,"date":"2015-12-16T11:52:43","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T11:52:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/blog\/?p=1138"},"modified":"2015-12-16T11:52:43","modified_gmt":"2015-12-16T11:52:43","slug":"huawei-lithium-ion-smartphone-battery-charges-10-times-faster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/blog\/huawei-lithium-ion-smartphone-battery-charges-10-times-faster.htm","title":{"rendered":"Huawei lithium-ion smartphone battery charges 10 times faster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After building Google&#8217;s fast-charging Nexus 6P, Huawei is showing off its even faster-charging battery of the future.\u00a0<span class=\"caption\">Huawei says its new lithium-ion battery&#8217;s configuration allows it to charge to half-full in five minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to Huawei, it has created a new configuration for a lithium-ion battery that allows it to be charged 10 times faster than current batteries, which could give an edge to Huawei&#8217;s handsets, wearables and mobile-networking equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Huawei showed off its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/discount-laptop-batteries.html\" target=\"_blank\">new quick-charging lithium-ion batteries<\/a> in a video presentation at the 56th Battery Symposium in Japan last week, demonstrating that a 3,000mAh battery with an energy density of 620Wh\/L could be recharged to 48 percent in five minutes.\u00a0It also showed a 600mAh battery that could be charged to 68 percent in two minutes.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/acer\/as07a31-battery.htm\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1139\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1139\" src=\"https:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/acer-as07a31-laptop-battery.jpg\" alt=\"acer-as07a31-laptop-battery\" width=\"770\" height=\"433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/acer-as07a31-laptop-battery.jpg 770w, https:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/acer-as07a31-laptop-battery-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/acer-as07a31-laptop-battery-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Huawei&#8217;s lithium-ion smartphone battery bonded heteroatoms to the molecule of graphite in anode, which could be a catalyst for the capture and transmission of lithium through carbon bonds,&#8221; Huawei explained. &#8220;The heteroatoms increase the charging speed of batteries without decreasing energy density or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.battaussie.com\/hp\/hstnn-ib45-battery.htm\">HP hstnn-ib45 battery<\/a>\u00a0life.<\/p>\n<p>Huawei is optimistic about its discovery, pointing out its use in mobile phones, electric vehicles, wearable devices and mobile power supplies. It said it is aiming to develop a battery that can reach a full charge during a coffee break.<\/p>\n<p>The developments at Huawei come just as Samsung has been throwing its weight behind fast wireless charging as a key feature of its smartphones, to work around battery recharging hassles.
